World Oceans Day & New Work

Happy World OCeans Day!

How is your summer going so far? It’s off to a hot and steamy start here in Massachusetts and I’ve been extra thankful for that cool ocean water!

I’m so excited to share my latest new prints, just in time for World Oceans Day! I photographed “Sun Glitter” at Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester, MA on a beautiful summer day. I love all the happy sparkles and joyful feeling in this image, and as you know if you’ve been following along for a while, sunshine glittering on water is one of my favorite things in life!

The second new print is titled “Waves”, and I photographed this image early on a June morning in Villefranche-sur-Mer on the French Riviera. I love watching waves slowly rolling in, there’s something so hypnotizing and meditative about that steady rhythm. It was a very warm morning that turned into an almost unbearably hot day, and I remember wanting to jump in to cool off, but of course you can’t when you’re by yourself with lots of camera equipment. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I feel like you can almost see the warmth in the air in spite of that deep blue color of the water.

Both these images fill me with such peace and happiness and gratitude for nature. It’s so easy to take it for granted, but I think we all have a renewed appreciation for the outdoors after these past 18 pandemic months!
